A major new ethical commitment
Mimosa S.r.l. remains ever-aware of its ethical and social duty. This year we started up a major new project called "Ida for Africa", which aims to promote facilities in Africa that will help children in Burkina Faso.
This year Ouettin will see the completion of an active well, which will provide water to around 5,000 people.

It is bordered by Mali to the north, Niger to the east, Benin to the south east, Togo and Ghana to the south and Côte d'Ivoire to the south west. It is a semi-presidential republic and its current head of state is Blaise Compaoré. Burkina Faso’s Prime Minister is Tertius Zongo. French is the official language.
Water means Life
Nowadays, more than one billion people on our planet are forced to use contaminated water. Water-related diseases kill an estimated 1.6 million children every year. In many cases, women are forced to walk several kilometres each day to secure potable water. Potable water means water that is safe for drinking, cooking, bathing and for land irrigation. This project aims to provide rural communities with access to potable water by constructing wells and water supply systems. By doing this, we can:
› reduce child mortality;
› prevent diseases caused by contaminated water;
› liberate women from the daily task of collecting water and allow them to look after their families;
› allow crop irrigation and thus encourage agricultural production.
