 Mimosa S.r.l. was founded in 1993 following an idea by Ida Bombana to continue the work of her father, Remo Bombana, and grandfather Andrea, who, in 1953 began producing ladies' hosiery and pantyhose. Ida Bombana passed away on 20 October 2006, aged 45, following a short battle with a serious illness.
Alberto Ghelfi, husband of the late Ida Bombana, now sits in the company's driving seat and is also the sole shareholder and legal representative for Mimosa S.r.l.. The company’s production department has had its workforce expanded through the hiring of new engineers and by investing in new machinery and equipment. Even the sales force has been strengthened, with the international sales network being closely monitored by qualified staff.
Ever-attentive to the quality system, Mimosa S.r.l. believes that it must increasingly focus future investments on raw materials and new manufacturing technologies so that customers can always have access to innovative and avant-garde products at competitive prices. Items produced must promote the health and well-being of the wearer and be fashion-conscious but, above all, must not deceive nor compromise quality.
The Sanyleg brand was born from the need to market a specific product line. The name immediately conjures up the idea of a medical or pharmaceutical product but, in actual fact, the range has been greatly expanded in recent years to include items for the everyday well-being of both men and women. Increasingly sophisticated machinery has also enabled the company to work with various different yarns like cotton and silk, and not just elastomers and nylon.

| Born in Mantua on 27 October 1961, Ghelfi has always had a keen interest in international trade. It was with Ida Bombana, who later became his wife, that he began working in hosiery production and sales. In 1993, Mimosa S.r.l., a company specialising in the production of medical and graduated compression hosiery, was created. In order to learn how to address the global market in the best way possible, they attended a masters course and specialised International Trade courses in Milan. In 2006, Ida Bombana died aged just 45 due to sudden illness. Alberto Ghelfi, the now owner and sole shareholder, continues to produce and promote medical and graduated compression hosiery throughout the world with the same determination and spirit shown in the past. |
