Graduated compression stockings for medical and therapeutic use

Graduated compression stockings for medical and therapeutic use
1. Types and methods of use of medical stockings

They fall into this category:
  • anti-embolism stockings: for the prophylaxis of thrombus embolism (they are in fact called "antiembolism", "antiembolism", "anti-thrombosis" or more commonly "anti-thrombus stockings");

  • anti-ulcer stockings: an ulcer is a laceration of the epidermis of the lower legs, which arises as a consequence of a particularly acute phase of chronic venous pathologies affecting the lower limbs. Unlike the previous ones, the anti-ulcer stockings commonly have the shape of knee-highs and are worn in pairs at the same time one on top of the other (in fact, we speak of a "kit").
Doctors and, in particular, surgeons often prescribe their use before, after or even during surgery.
Thanks to the principle of graduated compression, these garments help prevent the increase in blood viscosity and the formation of thrombus.
Depending on the needs, they are characterized by different lengths and can therefore be found in the variants of:
