Alberto Ghelfi

Alberto Ghelfi was born on October 27, 1961, in Mantua, to a father who was a doctor and a mother who was a homemaker. After abandoning his veterinary studies, he decided to embark on the path of entrepreneurship. In 1993, together with his wife Ida Bombana, who passed away prematurely in 2006, he started the production of medical socks with graduated compression using only the resources available to them.

Sanyleg's expansion

He thus initiates a series of researches in the field of graduated compression stockings and analyzes foreign markets to identify products and countries on which to focus commercial efforts. Participation in international fairs allows him to travel around the world, gaining recognition for his seriousness and determination to achieve his goals.

He invested in qualified personnel to ensure high quality and, with commitment, leads Sanyleg a world leader in the production of Private Label medical socks, with export shares of 90%.
In 2010 he decided to invest in a new production line for graduated compression socks for the sports sector. This choice has made Sanyleg today one of the most important producers of graduated compression socks for sports as well.

A new phase of growth

In 2026, under the leadership of Alberto Ghelfi, Sanyleg entered a new and significant phase of growth with the acquisition of Vartes, a production unit specialized in seamless technology and the development of technical garments.
This operation represents a natural evolution of the founder’s entrepreneurial vision, which has always been driven by innovation and the strengthening of industrial expertise.
The integration of highly specialized know-how and the introduction of seamless technology now enable Sanyleg to expand its production and R&D capabilities, developing high-performance garments designed to enhance comfort, fit, and performance.
In line with the values that have guided the company since its origins – quality, flexibility, and customer focus – Alberto Ghelfi continues to drive Sanyleg toward the future, combining consolidated experience and new technological opportunities to accelerate the development of innovative, high-performance solutions.

Terre dei Ghelfi

In 2021 Alberto Ghelfi decided to embark on a new project. A lover of nature, the sea, and sailing, he invested in the wine tourism sector, choosing the Bolgheri area in Tuscany.

Here, he founded Terre dei Ghelfi, an agricultural company for the production of Bolgheri DOC wine and Bolgheri IGP olive oil, also suitable for hosting a tourist accommodation structure consisting of 7 apartments.. Through a search for the best professionals in the area, he shared his philosophy based on excellence and began this new journey with commitment, humility, and perseverance, supported by trusted individuals who have always believed in him and have followed him in all his projects.
